What happens during your PTE lessons?
We work on the areas that need attention. If Speaking is holding your score back, that is where we spend more time. If your problem is Listening or Writing, the lessons reflect that instead.
You practise the relevant PTE tasks and receive feedback on what went wrong, why it happened and what to change. We also look at timing, task instructions and the language skills behind repeated mistakes.

The exact balance changes as your preparation progresses. There is little value in spending another week on a task you already handle well when a different task is costing you points.
You use English at work. Why is PTE still difficult?
Nurses in Dubai often use English throughout their working day. They speak with colleagues, follow instructions, explain procedures and communicate with patients.
That experience helps, but it does not automatically translate into a strong PTE result. The exam asks you to complete particular tasks, often under tight time limits. Some require skills you rarely practise in a hospital.
For example, you might explain a patient’s condition clearly but struggle to repeat a sentence accurately after hearing it once. Or you might understand an article but take too long to answer the reading questions.
Those are different problems, and they need different kinds of practice.

Which PTE tasks will you practise?
That depends on the exam version and your results. We cover the relevant tasks, but the time spent on each one depends on what you need to improve.
Speaking
Speaking work may include Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image and Re-tell Lecture, along with other tasks included in your PTE version.
We pay attention to how clearly you speak, how smoothly you respond and whether your answers meet the task requirements.
Writing
We look at sentence accuracy, grammar, vocabulary and organisation. Practice may include Summarize Written Text and Write Essay.
The aim is to make your writing clearer and more accurate without wasting time on unnecessary detail.
Reading
Reading practice includes relevant fill-in-the-blanks, paragraph ordering and multiple-choice tasks.
We work on comprehension, vocabulary and the decisions that can slow you down during the test.
Listening
Listening may include Write From Dictation, Summarize Spoken Text, fill-in-the-blanks and other listening tasks.
We look at what you miss when listening, how accurately you record information and how you manage your attention.
PTE task formats can change, and different PTE versions have different requirements. Preparation should follow the current format of the exam you intend to take.
If you have already taken PTE, don’t start again blindly
When a nurse contacts us after missing a target score, the first thing we want to understand is what happened in the previous attempt.
Did Speaking fall short while the other skills were satisfactory? Was the result lower across several areas? Did you run out of time or struggle with unfamiliar tasks?
Your score report will not explain every mistake, but it can help us decide what to investigate first.
Online PTE classes for nurses living in Dubai
If you work in Dubai Healthcare City, at a hospital elsewhere in Dubai or in another part of the emirate, you can attend lessons online without travelling to a PTE institute.
This can be particularly useful when your shifts change or you only have certain days available for study. We discuss lesson times in advance, subject to tutor availability.
We also work online with nurses based in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain and other parts of the UAE. You do not need to be physically based in Dubai to join the programme.

Make sure PTE is accepted before you prepare for it
Nurses in the UAE take English tests for different reasons. Some are applying to universities, others are considering migration, and some are pursuing professional registration overseas.
Those routes do not necessarily accept the same exams. An English test accepted for a visa application may not satisfy a nursing regulator’s requirements.

We can discuss lesson times that fit around your shifts. Scheduling depends on tutor availability, so it is best to confirm this before enrolling.
I have already taken PTE. Can you help me retake it?
Yes. Your previous score is a useful starting point. We can discuss which skills need work and what may have affected your last result.
