Business English for people who need to work in English, not simply study it
Build the language, clarity and confidence you need for meetings, presentations, negotiations, client conversations and everyday international work.
LBE School provides private online Business English training for professionals who already have responsibilities, deadlines and real conversations to handle. Your lessons are built around the situations you actually face rather than a standard textbook sequence.
What is Business English?
Business English is the English you use to do your job. It includes the language and communication skills needed to discuss work, explain decisions, participate in meetings, write professionally, deal with clients and communicate with colleagues across countries.
That sounds simple, but the gap between knowing English and functioning well at work can be considerable.
You may understand most conversations and still struggle to enter a fast meeting. You may know the right vocabulary but take too long to make your point. You may write good emails yet feel far less comfortable when somebody challenges your idea in real time.
This is why our work is centred on communication in context. Grammar and vocabulary matter, but they are useful only when you can retrieve them quickly enough to handle the situation in front of you.
For professionals whose English has become part of the job
Many of our students do not need English for an exam or a certificate. They need it because their work has become international.
They may have joined a global company, started reporting to another country, begun serving international clients or moved into a role where English is used every week.
Some are already comfortable conversationally. What they want now is more control, precision and consistency in professional situations.
You may recognise some of these situations
- You understand the discussion but hesitate before speaking.
- You know what you want to say, but the sentence comes out longer than it should.
- You prepare presentations well but find questions harder than the presentation itself.
- You lose vocabulary when a conversation becomes tense or unexpected.
- You sound more informal in English than you intend.
- You rely on the same safe words even though your level is higher.
- You can communicate, but not always with the precision your role requires.
What you practise should resemble what you actually have to do
A useful Business English lesson should make Monday morning easier.
If you regularly give updates, we can work on making those updates tighter and easier to follow. If you handle customers, we can practise clarifying problems, managing expectations and responding when a conversation becomes uncomfortable.
When an important meeting is approaching, the lesson can focus on that meeting. We can examine the language you are likely to need, rehearse difficult moments and refine the way you explain your position.
What is different about private Business English training?
A general Business English course often has to follow the same programme for everyone in the group. Private training gives us a different starting point: your work, your communication habits and your immediate priorities.
Two professionals with the same English level may need completely different lessons. A lawyer speaking to international clients does not face the same language problems as a finance professional presenting numbers or a manager coordinating a regional team.
We identify where communication actually breaks down
Not only what grammar you know, but what happens when you have to speak, listen, react and organise an answer without preparation.
We practise situations that matter to you
Lessons can use realistic meetings, presentations, negotiations, calls and workplace scenarios rather than disconnected classroom exercises.
Business communication is rarely just a vocabulary problem
People often come to us asking for more words. Sometimes vocabulary is part of the issue, but professional communication normally involves several skills at once.
Organising your message
Getting to the important point sooner and making your reasoning easier for other people to follow.
Using stronger vocabulary naturally
Expanding your range without forcing complicated words into sentences where simpler language would work better.
Speaking with greater control
Working on pace, pronunciation, hesitation and the way your voice carries information in professional conversations.
Following international conversations
Building confidence with different accents, faster speech and meetings where several people speak in quick succession.
Responding without a script
Handling follow up questions, interruptions, disagreement and moments when you have not had time to prepare.
Correcting recurring patterns
Identifying grammar and language habits that repeatedly affect clarity and correcting them in practical communication.
Speaking well when several things are happening at once
Meetings are difficult because there is little time to build the perfect sentence. You have to listen, decide what matters, enter the conversation and communicate your point while other people are doing the same.
We can practise ways to give updates, clarify information, disagree professionally, buy a little thinking time and bring a discussion back to the point when it starts moving in the wrong direction.
Professionals based in the Gulf who need a more location specific programme can also see our English for meetings in Dubai training.
Useful meeting skills include
- entering a conversation without sounding abrupt
- asking someone to clarify an unclear point
- summarising what has been agreed
- challenging an idea without making the exchange personal
- giving short operational updates
- handling questions you did not expect
Good English is not enough if the wording sends the wrong signal
Negotiations require more than correct grammar. The exact wording can make a proposal sound flexible, firm, uncertain, confrontational or more generous than you intended.
Training can focus on opening positions, concessions, conditions, objections and ways to disagree while keeping the conversation productive.
If negotiation is the central reason for your training and you are based in the UAE, see our dedicated negotiation skills training in Dubai page.
The language should fit the work
Professional vocabulary becomes useful when it is connected to situations you genuinely face.
A lawyer may need to qualify advice carefully. A finance professional may need to explain a variance, defend an assumption or make numbers understandable to people outside finance. A commercial manager may spend far more time negotiating, presenting options and dealing with customers.
There is no single international accent or communication style
English in an international company rarely means speaking only with native speakers. A meeting may include people from five or ten different linguistic backgrounds.
That changes what effective communication looks like. Clear pronunciation matters, but so do pacing, sentence structure, the ability to rephrase an idea and knowing when a direct sentence may be interpreted differently across cultures.
The goal is not to imitate somebody else’s identity. It is to make your English easier to follow and more reliable when the conversation matters.
Location specific Business English
Some professionals prefer training built around the business environment in the country where they live or work.
Do you need advanced English before starting?
No. You do not need advanced English to begin Business English training. What matters is identifying what you can already do and what currently gets in the way when you communicate professionally.
Someone at an intermediate level may need more work on sentence construction, listening and vocabulary range. A stronger speaker may need less traditional language study and much more work on precision, delivery and difficult interactions.
This is one reason we begin with a conversation rather than assuming that a certificate or self reported level tells the whole story.

Business English training: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between General English and Business English?
General English develops broad everyday language ability. Business English concentrates on communication used at work, such as meetings, presentations, negotiations, professional writing, client conversations and workplace vocabulary.
Is Business English only for people who already speak advanced English?
No. Professionals can begin at different levels. The balance of the programme changes according to what you already know and what you need to do in English. Intermediate learners may require more language development, while stronger speakers may focus more heavily on precision, fluency and professional communication.
Can the lessons focus on my actual job?
Yes. Private training allows lessons to reflect your role, industry and recurring communication situations. This may include meetings, calls, presentations, negotiations, customer conversations or other situations relevant to your work.
Can I prepare for an important meeting or presentation?
Yes. When an important event is approaching, training can include rehearsal, language preparation, question practice and feedback on how clearly your message is likely to be understood.
Is Business English training available online?
Yes. LBE School works with professionals online, which makes it possible to train people living and working in different countries and time zones.
Do you teach Business English for specific professions?
Training can be adapted to professional contexts. The website also contains dedicated resources and services for particular roles and markets where the communication requirements are more specialised.
How do I know what I should work on first?
Start with an assessment. We look at the situations where you use English and the communication patterns that currently create difficulty. From there, it is easier to decide what deserves priority.
