Private English Tutor in Kazakhstan
One-to-one English lessons for adults who want more speaking time, closer feedback and a programme that can adapt to the way they actually use English.
Your tutor works with your current English rather than teaching to the average level of a group. If something needs more time, you can stay with it. If you already handle it comfortably, there is no reason to spend another week on it.

Why one-to-one
Your lesson does not need to move at somebody else’s pace
A group course has to keep several people moving through the same programme. A private lesson can respond to one person.
Perhaps you understand English well but need too much time to answer. Perhaps people occasionally ask you to repeat yourself. You might speak quite fluently and still make the same grammar mistakes every day.
Those are different problems. Giving each of them the same lesson would make little sense.
One-to-one teaching gives the instructor enough time to hear what is happening in your English and decide what deserves attention next.
Individual attention
“Intermediate” does not tell us what happens when you speak
Two people at roughly the same level can need very different lessons.
One person may follow a conversation easily but hesitate when answering. Another may speak quickly while making errors that affect clarity. A third may read confidently and still find unfamiliar accents difficult to follow.
How clearly you express an idea
Correct grammar helps, but the listener also needs to follow your point. We look at how you build an answer, connect ideas and make the important part clear.
What happens when you hesitate
Sometimes a word is missing. Sometimes you know the vocabulary but cannot build the sentence quickly enough. The solution depends on what is causing the hesitation.
Where pronunciation affects clarity
Pronunciation work can focus on sounds, stress and rhythm that make a practical difference to how easily other people understand you. The aim is clear speech, not the removal of your accent.
Where listening starts to break down
Speed, accent, vocabulary and context can all change how much you understand. Identifying the source of the problem makes listening practice far more useful.
Areas of focus
What you work on can change over time
You may start because you want to speak more fluently and then realise that listening is causing more difficulty than you expected. Pronunciation may need attention for a few weeks. A move, a new job or more frequent travel may create a new reason to use English.
Private lessons leave enough room for those priorities to change without starting an entirely new course.
Respond without building every sentence first
Practise explaining, answering and continuing a conversation when there is little time to prepare.
Follow a wider range of speakers
Work with differences in speed, pronunciation and accent so that understanding does not depend on one familiar voice.
Make your speech easier to understand
Focus on the sounds and stress patterns that matter most for clarity, including word stress, sentence stress and rhythm.
Deal with mistakes that keep coming back
Grammar is more useful when it is connected to patterns that repeatedly appear in your own speaking.
Turn recognised vocabulary into usable vocabulary
Work on words and combinations you can retrieve while speaking, rather than building a longer list of terms you recognise only when reading.
Rely less on rehearsed English
Repeated speaking and feedback can make unexpected questions and unfamiliar conversations easier to handle.
Flexible structure
Your English will not improve in textbook order
A programme still needs direction. It also needs enough flexibility to respond when a recurring problem becomes obvious.
Your tutor can keep track of longer-term priorities while spending more time on something that has become important, revisiting a problem that is still showing up or moving on when further practice would add little.
Materials can be useful, but they serve the lesson. The lesson does not have to serve the next page of a coursebook.
Over several lessons, repeated patterns become visible. That gives the tutor something more useful to work with than a collection of isolated mistakes.
English in everyday life
Adults often have more than one reason to improve their English
Work may be one reason. Travel, relocation and ordinary conversation may matter just as much.
You might use English professionally and still want to become more comfortable in everyday conversations. Perhaps you travel regularly, expect to spend more time abroad or simply want your spoken English to catch up with what you can already understand.
A private programme can accommodate those different needs without treating every lesson as business training.
If your priority is specifically meetings, negotiations, presentations or international business communication, see our Business English training in Kazakhstan.
Who private lessons suit
Particularly useful when you already have some English
Our one-to-one programmes are mainly designed for adults who already understand some English and want to become more independent speakers.
- You understand more English than you comfortably speak.
- The same mistakes keep appearing despite previous study.
- You want much more speaking time than a group course gives you.
- Your speaking, reading and listening are at noticeably different levels.
- You want feedback on your own communication rather than generic exercises.
- Your priorities change according to work, travel or life.
After years of study
Knowing a grammar rule does not guarantee that you can use it
Many adults have studied English before. They can recognise grammar, read reasonably well and understand familiar topics, yet the language becomes much harder to retrieve once a real conversation begins.
At that point, another explanation of a rule you already know may change very little. It is often more useful to see what happens while you are speaking and practise the language until a better response becomes easier to produce.
Instructor fit
Choosing a tutor involves more than choosing an accent
Our wider teaching team includes native and multilingual English speakers from different countries and professional backgrounds. They are used to working with adults whose English has developed in different educational, professional and cultural environments.
The team includes professionals from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean and Nigeria, with backgrounds that include business, entrepreneurship, management, IT, arts and music.
What matters most is whether the instructor can hear where your communication is breaking down, explain the problem clearly and create practice that addresses it.
Online in Kazakhstan
Private English lessons in Almaty, Astana and across Kazakhstan
Lessons are delivered online, so where you live does not limit which instructor you can work with.
Sessions can be arranged around Kazakhstan working hours, which can be useful if your schedule makes a fixed local group course difficult to attend.
LBE School does not operate a physical classroom in Almaty or Astana. The programme is delivered online and one-to-one.
Before you start
First, we need to hear your English
A level such as B1 or B2 is useful information, but it does not tell us enough to recommend the right training.
We also need to understand where English appears in your life, what currently feels difficult and what happens when you have to communicate without much preparation.
Tell us why you are looking for lessons
We discuss your previous experience with English, where you use it now and what you would like to handle more comfortably.
Speak with us
Conversation gives us a much clearer picture of fluency, clarity, accuracy, pronunciation and how easily you organise ideas while speaking.
Identify the main priorities
We separate problems that deserve regular attention from things that can be corrected more quickly.
Discuss the appropriate programme
We then recommend a training option based on your current English, objectives and the amount of work involved.

Questions before you choose a tutor
Are the English lessons completely private?
Yes. The programme on this page is one-to-one. You work directly with the instructor rather than sharing the session with a group.
Are the lessons online?
Yes. Lessons are delivered online for learners in Almaty, Astana and elsewhere in Kazakhstan. LBE School does not operate a physical classroom in Kazakhstan.
Do I need to live in Almaty or Astana?
No. The programme is online, so you can take private lessons from elsewhere in Kazakhstan as well.
Are the lessons designed for adults?
Yes. These programmes are primarily designed for adults and are particularly suitable for people who already have some English and want more individual speaking time, correction and direction.
Do you teach complete beginners?
Our one-to-one programmes are mainly designed for adults who already have some English. If you are starting from zero, contact us first and we can tell you whether the programme is suitable for your situation.
Do private lessons follow a coursebook?
An instructor may use selected materials when they are useful, but lessons do not need to follow a coursebook page by page. Your current English and recurring difficulties help determine what receives attention.
Can I focus mainly on speaking?
Yes, if speaking is your main priority. During the initial assessment we can also identify whether pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening or organisation are contributing to the difficulty.
Can pronunciation be part of the programme?
Yes. Pronunciation work focuses on making your speech clearer and easier to understand. There is no requirement to imitate one particular national accent.
Can I use the lessons for English I need at work?
Yes. Work-related English can be included in private lessons. If meetings, negotiations, presentations and international business communication are your main priorities, our Business English programme in Kazakhstan is designed more specifically around those situations.
Do you offer English training for companies in Kazakhstan?
Yes. If a company is arranging training for employees, managers or a wider team, see our Corporate English training in Kazakhstan.
Are all of your instructors native English speakers?
No. Our wider team includes both native and multilingual English speakers from different countries and professional backgrounds. The instructor match depends on the learner and the work that needs to be done.
How do you decide what I should work on?
We begin by speaking with you. Your current level is one part of the picture, alongside fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, listening, clarity and the situations in which you need English.
How much do private English lessons cost?
The investment depends on the programme recommended after we understand your current English, objectives and the amount of training involved. We discuss the appropriate option after the initial conversation.
