The programme

What does professional English training actually involve?

It is private training built around the English you need in your job. Depending on your role, the work may include meetings, presentations, negotiations, listening, pronunciation, concise answers, professional vocabulary and communication with senior people.

Most professionals who come to us can already speak English. They are not starting again from the basics.

The difficulty often appears when the conversation becomes more demanding. A normal discussion goes well, but a presentation feels different. A one-to-one conversation is comfortable, but a fast meeting with six people is harder to follow. A technical explanation is accurate, yet much longer than it needs to be.

These are not unusual problems. They are simply more specific than the problems a general English course is designed to solve.

The professional gap

Your English should not make you sound less experienced than you are

Seniority changes the conversation.

You may have to interpret information rather than simply report it. You may need to recommend a course of action, question a proposal, explain risk, defend a decision or tell someone more senior that you disagree.

The language itself matters, but so does the way the message is organised. A good answer can lose force when the main point comes too late or when too much detail hides the conclusion.

Your professional experience should still be obvious when you switch into English.

That is why we pay attention to structure, tone, pacing and delivery, not only grammar and vocabulary.

At work

The situations we can work on

There is no fixed combination. The emphasis depends on what you do and where English has the greatest effect on your work.

03

Negotiations

State your position clearly, question assumptions, introduce conditions, push back professionally and make sure both sides leave with the same understanding of what was agreed.

How to negotiate in English
04

Senior management conversations

Lead with the information that matters, reduce unnecessary detail and adjust the message when speaking to directors, clients or decision-makers.

Executive English
05

International business

Communicate with clients, partners, suppliers and colleagues abroad without sounding as if you are reciting phrases from a coursebook.

Business English
06

Unexpected questions

Give yourself enough thinking time, organise the answer as you speak and stay close to the question instead of drifting into a long explanation.

Executives & senior managers

Senior roles require more than correct English

A finance director may have three minutes to explain figures that took an hour to prepare.

An engineering manager may have to explain a technical problem to someone who has never worked in that field.

A department head may need to reject a proposal from someone more senior without turning the conversation into a confrontation.

These situations depend on judgement as much as language.

  • Shorter executive answers
  • Recommendations and decisions
  • Explaining risk and uncertainty
  • Professional disagreement and pushback
  • Presenting to leadership
  • Adjusting detail for different audiences
  • Staying composed when challenged
Entrepreneurs & business owners

English often becomes important at exactly the moment a decision is being made

For a founder or business owner, English may be involved in a partnership, a supplier agreement, an investment conversation, a commercial proposal or an expansion plan.

Who you may be speaking to

  • International clients
  • Investors
  • Suppliers
  • Distributors
  • Business partners
  • Banks and advisers

What may need work

  • Explaining the business clearly
  • Discussing growth and expansion
  • Negotiating commercial terms
  • Handling investor questions
  • Presenting a proposal
  • Building rapport naturally
Your profession matters

Your work should shape the training

A lawyer, physician, engineer, entrepreneur and technology manager can all be fluent enough to attend the same international meeting.

Their communication problems are still very different.

A lawyer may care about precision and risk. An engineer may need to make technical information accessible. A founder may need to persuade and negotiate. A manager may be dealing with disagreement across several levels of seniority.

Sessions can therefore draw on your own field, responsibilities and the conversations that come up repeatedly in your work.

The instructors

Work with people who are comfortable in international environments

Our teaching team includes native and multilingual English speakers with different professional and cultural backgrounds.

Professional backgrounds

Members of the team have experience in areas including business, management, entrepreneurship, technology, arts and music.

Different parts of the English-speaking world

Our professionals come from the United States, United Kingdom, Caribbean and Nigeria.

Multicultural experience

Instructors are used to communicating across cultures, and many have lived or worked in different countries.

Whenever possible, instructor selection takes into account the client’s profession, communication goals and working style rather than simply assigning the next available teacher.

Listening

International meetings do not sound like classroom recordings

One call might include a British director, an American client, an Indian engineer, a Gulf-based colleague and a European supplier.

All of them may speak English well. They will not sound the same.

Listening practice can include different accents, speaking speeds and communication styles so that unfamiliar pronunciation is less likely to throw you off in an important conversation.

The goal is to understand quickly enough to respond well.

Pronunciation

Clear speech matters more than copying a British or American accent

You do not need to sound like someone from London or New York. What matters is whether international listeners understand you easily.

Clarity

  • Sounds that affect intelligibility
  • Word stress
  • Sentence stress
  • Rhythm and pacing

Delivery

  • Reducing unnecessary hesitation
  • Using pauses deliberately
  • Highlighting key information
  • Sounding natural rather than rehearsed

What private training can look like

01

You have an important meeting next week

We can rehearse the likely conversation, tighten your explanations and work through the questions you expect to receive.

02

You are preparing a presentation

We can work through the presentation itself, improve the transitions and prepare for the discussion afterwards.

03

You lose track in fast meetings

We can work on listening, clarification and the language you need to enter the discussion before the moment passes.

04

Your answers become too long

We can practise giving the same answer at different levels of detail depending on who is asking and how much time you have.

Online coaching from Almaty, Astana or elsewhere in Kazakhstan

Sessions are online, so your location does not determine which instructor you can work with.

Scheduling can be arranged around Kazakhstan working hours, subject to instructor availability.

The format also works well for professionals who travel regularly, work remotely or spend much of the week speaking to international teams.

Before you enrol

Start by finding out what actually needs work

“I need to improve my English” is too broad to build a useful programme around.

Talk to a consultant

Explain what you do, who you speak to and where English tends to become difficult.

Look at how you communicate now

Fluency, clarity, accuracy, structure, listening and delivery give us a more useful picture than a simple level label.

Decide what deserves attention first

The priority may be meetings, presentations, listening, pronunciation, concise answers or professional vocabulary.

Build the training around the gap

The recommended amount of training depends on your current communication, your objectives and how quickly you want to improve.

One thing we often find

Sometimes the problem is not a lack of English

Plenty of experienced professionals know more English than they manage to use when the pressure goes up.

The grammar may be fine. The vocabulary may be there. The problem can be how quickly an answer is organised, how much detail goes into it, or how comfortably the speaker handles interruption and challenge.

  • The main point appears too late.
  • A short answer turns into a long explanation.
  • Hesitation makes a clear idea sound uncertain.
  • The language becomes too formal when the stakes rise.
  • Known vocabulary disappears under pressure.
  • Fast group discussions are harder than one-to-one conversations.

Once the real problem is clear, the training becomes much more focused.
