Public Speaking Courses in Dubai for Professionals Who Work in English
Private online coaching for executives, managers and professionals in Dubai who want to be clearer when they present, more comfortable with questions and less dependent on a script.
Sessions are private and online. We work with professionals in Dubai, but we are not a classroom training centre in the UAE.
What we actually work on
Public speaking training based on the conversations and presentations you have at work
Public speaking is not only about standing on a stage. At work, it can be a client presentation, a short update to senior management, a pitch, a conference talk or the five minutes of questions after a presentation that you were perfectly comfortable giving.
Our public speaking training for professionals in Dubai is private and built around those situations. We look at how you organise an idea, what happens to your English when you are put under pressure, how you sound when you deliver it and what changes when somebody interrupts or asks a question you were not expecting.
When expertise is not the issue
You know the subject. Explaining it in the room is the difficult part.
We often work with people who have no difficulty discussing their field in a normal conversation. The difficulty appears when everyone turns to them and waits for the answer.
An explanation becomes longer than it needed to be. A presentation that sounded natural in rehearsal suddenly feels stiff. Someone interrupts, the prepared wording disappears and the speaker starts searching for English instead of thinking about the point they wanted to make.
Those are useful moments to practise because they show us exactly where the communication starts to change.
During the coaching
What might come up in a session
Getting to the point
We look at the order of the message. What does the audience need first? What is background? What can disappear completely? A clearer structure usually makes the speaker’s job easier as well.
Pace, pauses and emphasis
Sometimes the wording is perfectly good but the delivery makes it difficult to follow. We can work on where you slow down, where you pause and which part of a sentence needs to carry the message.
Less reliance on a script
We can take a prepared section and gradually remove the safety net. You keep the idea and the structure, but learn to express it without needing exactly the same sentence every time.
Questions you didn’t plan for
We can interrupt, challenge a point, ask you to clarify something or take the discussion in another direction. That is often more useful than rehearsing the same presentation for the tenth time.
Pronunciation when it affects clarity
There is no reason to remove an accent simply because you have one. We work on pronunciation or articulation when a particular speech habit is making an important word or sentence harder to understand.
Recovering when something goes wrong
You lose a word. The audience looks confused. Someone interrupts halfway through the explanation. Instead of treating that as failure, we practise what you do next.
Speaking at work in Dubai
The audience is not always a conference room full of people
Public speaking at work can involve six people rather than sixty. What makes the situation important is usually who is listening and what needs to happen afterwards.
When you are presenting in a second language
Sometimes you already have the English. Accessing it quickly is the problem.
It is easy to assume that hesitation means you need more vocabulary. That is not always what is happening.
You may know the words perfectly well in conversation but struggle to retrieve them while several people are waiting for you to finish a point. You start translating in your head, add another sentence while looking for the expression you wanted, or speed up because the silence feels uncomfortable.
We listen for those patterns. The work then depends on what is actually happening rather than treating every difficult moment as another English lesson.
Presentation skills
The slides can be excellent and the presentation can still be difficult to follow
We can work directly with a presentation you use at work. That might involve changing the opening, deciding what should be said rather than shown, explaining a chart without reading from it, or finding a more natural way to move from one part of the presentation to another.
A presentation becomes much easier to handle when you know the message well enough to change the wording without losing the point.
If most of your difficulty happens in discussions rather than presentations, our English for meetings in Dubai programme deals more directly with meetings, updates and everyday professional discussion.
Questions and interruptions
You can prepare the presentation. You cannot prepare every response.
This is where the session can become deliberately less comfortable.
We might stop you halfway through an explanation, question an assumption or ask for a shorter answer. You may need to clarify what the other person means before responding. At other times, you may simply need a few seconds to think without filling those seconds with unnecessary language.
If those conversations regularly involve commercial discussions, suppliers or difficult client conversations, our negotiation skills training in Dubai covers that side of professional communication in more depth.
How it works
Your first session gives us something real to work with
We hear you speak
We start by looking at your current English, the situations you deal with at work and what happens when you have to speak under pressure. We do not decide what you need from a questionnaire alone.
We use your professional context
When it makes sense, bring the presentation, topic or situation with you. A physician presenting a case, a manager giving a regional update and a founder pitching an idea need very different practice.
You try it again
Feedback is useful, but the important part is what happens afterwards. You make the change and say it again so that we can hear whether it actually works when you speak.
Then we make it less predictable
Once something is working, we can add interruptions, questions, shorter time limits or a different audience. That is usually where you find out whether the change has become usable.
Private coaching
The whole session can stay with one problem if that is what you need
A group public speaking course has to move with the group. Private coaching does not.
If one part of a presentation keeps causing trouble, we can stay there. If a pronunciation issue only appears when you speed up, we can put you back into the situation that triggers it. If the presentation itself is fine but the questions are not, we can spend the session on questions.
That flexibility is particularly useful when you have a specific professional reason for doing the work rather than a general interest in public speaking.
Senior-level communication
The more senior the audience, the less time you may have to make the point
Senior professional communication often involves deciding what not to say. You may understand every detail of a problem but have two minutes to explain what changed, why it matters and what you recommend doing next.
If that challenge appears across meetings, updates and day-to-day conversations as well as presentations, see our Business English for executives in Dubai programme.
Is this the right format?
This is fairly specialised coaching
It probably makes sense if…
You already use English at work and there are specific situations in which you want to communicate better: presentations, Q&A, pitches, conference speaking, technical explanations or important updates.
It is probably not what you are looking for if…
You want a large classroom course, a public speaking certificate, a physical training centre in Dubai or a general English programme for beginners.
A few practical questions
Before you get in touch
Is this a public speaking course in Dubai?
It is public speaking coaching for people living or working in Dubai, but the sessions themselves are online. This is private 1-to-1 coaching rather than a classroom course at a Dubai training centre.
What’s the difference between public speaking and presentation skills?
There is a lot of overlap. Presentation work usually involves a prepared talk or deck. Public speaking can go further into Q&A, spontaneous explanations, audience interaction, pacing, voice and what happens when you have to speak without prepared wording.
Can I bring a real presentation to the sessions?
Yes. In many cases that is the most useful material to work with. We can look at the structure, the spoken delivery and the questions you are likely to face.
What if English isn’t my first language?
That is fine. We can work on the speaking itself and on language issues that appear while you are speaking, such as word retrieval, pronunciation, articulation, pacing or depending too heavily on memorised sentences.
Will I need to change my accent?
No. Having an accent is not the problem. If something in your pronunciation regularly makes you difficult to understand, we can work on that specific issue.
Can we practise difficult questions?
Yes. We can use interruptions, follow-up questions, requests for clarification and questions you have not prepared for. You can also bring examples of questions that tend to cause problems at work.
Do you work with executives?
Yes. The sessions can be adapted to leadership presentations, senior management updates, client pitches, investor conversations, conference talks and other situations where the audience or outcome matters.
How do we decide what to work on?
We start by hearing you speak and understanding where you need to use English professionally. From there, we can identify the areas that are actually affecting your communication rather than working through a fixed public speaking syllabus.
Other communication situations
You may find the problem shows up somewhere else too
Presentations are sometimes only where the issue is most visible. If you notice the same difficulty in meetings, negotiations or other professional conversations, these programmes deal with those situations separately.
If you have something coming up
Tell us what you’re preparing for
You may have a presentation next month, an interview with senior management, a conference talk or a Q&A that you never feel quite comfortable with.
Send us a short message about the situation and we can see whether private coaching makes sense for it.
